Photos: YIS do Meredith....

...although not in the way we really would have liked.

Personal highlights were Thee Oh Sees, Why? and (of course) Jarvis Cocker. Eddy Current in the headliner slot gave me some mixed feelings... but after a shaky first three songs, they nailed it. And, yeah, Animal Collective didn't play My Girls.

Listened to Real Estate's self-titled album on the way up; what a lovely piece of work. The whole thing is up on Youtube here if you want a listen.

Thank You Too!

What a great weekend. Thanks for everyone who came and saw us over the past few nights; it was a lot of fun. The Old Bar show was probably the best show of our quintet of dates over the past couple of months, so, thanks for making the night really special. Hope you enjoyed the BBQ as well. Apologies to Bill Callahan, Lou Reed, Alan Vega and Martin Rev for the hack job.

The next show is also at The Old Bar on Boxing Day (Saturday, 26th of Jan) with the crazy symphonic metal 9-piece Vampillia from Japan. How they are going to all fit on stage is beyond me, but it should be a fun night. Along for the ride is No Name (also from Japan) and Fourteen Nights At Sea. Only $8 as well.

Get well soon, Marc Nolte!

Our good friend Marc Nolte from The Strange Attractions has broken his arm! Badly!! Send your messages of hope to him here.

Sunday BBQ

We've decided to put on a BBQ at our FREE Old Bar gig on Sunday. Food will be flying off the grill at around 7pm, and it'll be vegan friendly... Decent stuff too! Not those generic "veggie burgers" served up at school sausage sizzles. There'll be a cup for shrapnel donations if you wish to chow down.

Even if you can't hang around until we play, come down for a drink and a chat. We'll be around from 4pm or so. Address is 74 - 76 JOHNSTON ST, FITZROY, in-between Brunswick and Nicholson St.
